Businesses are increasingly relying on their employees to work remotely and on the move, communicating solely by mobile and tablet devices. But roaming communications systems are held back by one thing; being in range of an accessible wireless LAN. If you’re not in this range, it can be a big problem.
This issue will be familiar to those who need access to on-the-spot printing to do their job, like delivery drivers who have to print receipts throughout the day. Citizen Systems Europe has always been ahead of the curve in this regard, as their printers have had the capacity to be accessed via WiFi from Apple devices for some time. However, Citizen knows that because you don’t stand still, they can’t either. They have enabled communication with iOS devices via Bluetooth for the Citizen CMP-20 and CMP-30 printers.
However, it’s not just the employee on the move who Citizen have catered for with this development. Citizen can provide an SDK – software development toolkit, to developers to allow them to integrate the CMP printers with iOS-Bluetooth capability and have them up and running in 30 minutes. As Jörk Schüßler, European Marketing Manager for Citizen Systems Europe says, “This is the part that many other manufacturers seem to ignore, but Citizen’s SDK makes it easy”.
